Is being cute a curse? Why can't I get a guy?

I don't understand! From looks, to personality, to body, I get called cute all the time! I'm almost 4 ft. 9 in. with curly brown hair, green eyes, and freckles. If I'm "cute" and have a good personality, the how come I can't get a guy? I personally think it's because I'm too "one of the guys" but my friends disagree! Never having a boyfriend has brought my self esteem down, too! Being called cute makes me feel ugly, and I'd like to feel beautiful! Why can't I get a guy? Help!!!

Unfortunately, this is something I deal with regularly. Everyone tells me I'm so cute. Then they ask how old I am. They freak when they hear that I'm 19 because they always tell me I look 12. I thought-there's gotta be something I can do. Changed my clothes, my make up, my behavior. Still, "AWW you're so cute! How old are you?" I say 19 they say,"OMG!" I had a guy once that I liked had the decency to give me an answer as to why no guy would date me. I knew guys liked me but they refused to ever ask me out! He told me it was because he was afraid people would mistake him for a pedophile if he started dating me. Which, in the US, anyone accused of doing so-regardless of whether the accuser knows if the girl in question is "legal" to date or not-can and will be detained for criminal behavior. Something that looks bad on a person regardless of whether it is proven or NOT. So yeah. That's a possibility because "cute" is a term people usually throw at "young" girls because it is more "appropriate". In your case, you're under 18. It is possible for you to grow out of it yet so don't think you're stuck. I had friends who did unlike myself. An advantage to this problem is that when we are in our 50's, we'll look 30! :)

It's not a curse, believe me. I see a lot of "beautiful" girls and truly that doesn't matter to me because it's merely appearances. However, cute is a trait I value greatly. I am much more attractive to a girl that is cute compared to a girl that is beautiful. After all, if I come to like someone, I'll see that someone as someone beautiful, and even see some cuteness in her. But someone who is naturally cute is even better.
Before ever having a crush on a girl, the first trait that attracts me to them is not whether her looks are stunning, or the way she walks, talks, or dresses. The first thing I notice is if that girl is cute or not. What can I say? I am a sucker for cute girls.
Don't consider cute to be a bad thing, even less consider yourself ugly because of that. Perhaps someone just hasn't seen you for who you are. So keep your self-esteem and stand with dignity. You don't need someone to say something to be considered beautiful, you already beautiful.

At 18 (senior year) I met my current girlfriend who was then 16 and a sophomore. She never had a boyfriend and that also lowered her self esteem (if that ever existed). She's insanely cute. 4'11", sparkling blue eyes, freckles, curly brown hair, basically yourself just slightly taller and blue eyes lol. But yeah in no way is cute another way to say you're ugly. Cute is cute. I think she's cute, but also call her beautiful, gorgeous, attractive, etc. I would call her sexy but that's too much for her innocent self.

Plot twist SHE ASKED ME OUT. If you don't like waiting for a guy to claim you then pick a guy and claim him. If you're cute and have a good personality few guys would say no as we don't play games like women do, we'd either date you or not.
