Will a shy guy text you if he likes you? Why or why not?

There is this guy I know who is funny and pretty loud but around me he is very shy and nervous. He never texts me first, I always have to text him first (I don't text him a lot by the way, maybe once a week) and he usually responds pretty quickly.

But in person, he use to approach me first, now he acts very quiet and calm towards me yet still shy.

It seems that he could possibly like you and you just make him nervous which is totally normal for guys. Just try and make him feel more comfortable, and I wouldn't take the fact that he doesn't text you first to heart. But then again, I also wouldn't text him a bunch either because he should learn that if he wants to text you he can text first, it doesn't always have to be you. But in the meantime, since he seems comfortable in person I would try hanging out with him more then.

Yeah :P It is normal except he was outgoing around before as well. Even when we dated. Now he is quiet and nervous.

He’s worried you might think something wrong of him so he suppresses his louder emotions around you, and when a guy does that he most likely likes you. Maybe once he gets to know you more he’ll grow comfortable enough to act like himself. I can assure you he istn naturally shy around people. He could be holding back for multiple reasons.

He was more likely putting on a face for you. Also men become a little insecure when they feel vulnerable after the expose their feelings towards women. That could lead to shyness or quietness. The best thing you should do in this situation is ask him straight out. “Why did you turn shy and quiet when you used to be outgoing?” whats the worst that could happen?

I mean, I'm shy, so I haven't even asked for the girl I likes # yet! but I would text her if I had it.

Well in person, he stops and answers my question by looking me directly in the eyes. With everyone else, he laughs, smiles, and jokes around.

In texting he sounds so serious which is the opposite of him in person with others.

No. All that has changed is nothing really. No more kissing though or touching.
