Why are guys embarrassed to be with or to be seen with a chubby girl?

Like it doesn't make them any uglier, they are just chubby. And when guys think the girl is cute but they won't ask the girl out, just cause she's chubby. I don't know what's the big deal. Being skinny is always praised

In Mauritania, Fat is actually the standard of beauty and they force the young women to eat and gain weight to find husbands. In poverty stricken areas, fat is usually ideal also because it symbolizes that the person has enough food to eat.
Fat isn't "in" in the US nor developed countries because food is so cheap and readily available.
Fat is ideal in Mauritania and other poor countries because everyone is so poor, that seeing a fat person usually means they have enough to eat.
Back then in the US, not sure why, but chubby and bigger women were also ideal.
So no, skinny isn't nor hasn't always been praised.
But I agree, people shouldn't give a fuck or be embarrassed to be seen with a chubby or fat girl. Even if the chubby girl is ugly or pretty. But people are so influenced by peer pressure. I say let people like who they like. As long as it isn't hurting anyone, we shouldn't shame other's for having their own ideals of beauty, whether they be thin or big, pretty or ugly.

They do look nice. I don't know why their has to be "standards" or what's "in" to be considered pretty. Why can't we just say fat and skinny are pretty? Why does it have to be one or the other? Why not both?
Meh, regardless, even if it is considered ugly, people still shouldn't give a damn. And people should just let others decide what they find attractive. It's none of our business anyways to dictate who others can or can't date.
But those who do give in to the peer pressure, well it's their fault too for being manipulated by society and stopping themselves from loving who they want.

Really its because the chubby girl isn't their 1st choice and is a last resort. Guys have to settle for less way more than women do and the lust for sex takes over guys especially if they never any affection and/or attention from the girls that they are truly attracted to. That's why I don't understand why people think that its impossible for a guy to be destined to be alone for the rest of his life by fate because if a guy can't get woman that he's attracted to guess what? He's going to spend the rest of life alone, or be with women he's not attracted to.

Yes they do. Women are the choosers, so they are much more likely on average to get someone that they are truly attracted to then men are.

He's actually right. My friend, who is 50, has never been in a relationship. Had sex with a few women here and there... but he has never found anyone. No wife. No girlfriend. No kids. He just has another male roommate and that's it.

I like chubby, it can be really attractive and cute. No, I'm not just saying this I really do like it. I wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen with a chubby girl at all, I've been out with chubby girls before.

It's a shame society tries to stamp out individuality. If a guy likes a chubby girl, he should grow a pair of balls and stop caring what other people think. It's usually the guys that can't get a girlfriend at all and are insecure about it that would give him the hardest time over it.

Luckily, generalizations don't necessarily hold, everyone finds different things attractive, just like how I personally have a preference for girls who are not skinny.

This might sound crazy but have you ever considered that he's just not that into you? For most guys if they are attracted to a girl it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Personally I get turned off by chubby girls because it's just not attractive to me.

Media and peer pressure tell us we should only fancy thin girls.

Even if the young guy does like chubby girls, he often can't bring himself to face the insults of his peers by asking out a chubby girl.

If you look at the comedy movie, The Inbetweeners, (and it's sequel) the boy Jay has that issue. He likes a girl who is larger than the norm but is afraid to be honest about his feelings.

Because for a guy, it's kinda sad. Being overweight is very unattractive to the majority of men, and going out with a chubby girl is kinda like buying a beat up car, or working a lousy job.
