Two possibilities, I see. One - He's caught off guard and kind of embarrassed, so he wanted to keep things light. (unlikely) Or Two - He's a fuckin Dick! A jerkoff/asshole/scumbag, and doesn't deserve you! To do that, he must not care about your feelings in the slightest. What you did was sweet and brave, I I'd love for a girl to tell me that, instead of me having to guess and be the one to take the chance. He should at least have been flattered and appreciative if he didn't feel the same way. That's SO disrespectful.

One thing I gotta know, though, was this guy a friend of yours to begin with? Cause that might explain it better - He could have done that if he didn't think that you were 'serious' serious. But if that's not he case, then I'll stick with my aforementioned hypothesis - He's an Asshole!
