Why do guys reply with one word texts?

There's this guy that I really like and I think he likes me back. Last week he was asking my friend about me because he wanted to know if I still liked him. He asked me for my number on Saturday and we talked all day. That night he said goodnight and told me that it was fun talking to me even though I thought he was bored the entire time. He always texts back but only says one or two words. So i can't tell if he wants me to stop talking to him or if he just doesn't like texting. What do you think? And why would he text me when he has nothing to say? Also, he sent me a good morning text so is that a sign that he likes me?

You ask what I think? Ok, guys don't usually send one word texts unless the girl is a Terrible conversationalist. so check yourself hon. if you are boring a guy via text, he'll instinctively try to end the conversation, one word texts are one of the sure ways. next time you want to text him, don't use fillers like "hey"/"hi" or "whats up" (you know what i mean) bring up a real topic.

But on Saturday he texted me and said "it was fun talking to you :)" Could he have just said that to be nice? I don't know what to talk about with him though. I don't actually know him and he doesn't go to my school. So I never know what to say.

of course it was fun talking to you... he like the FACT that you talked to him... not the conversation. if you don't know what to bring up and don't know what to say... isn't that a hint that the conversation will be terrible?

Yeah I guess. But he always texts me first and doesn't have anything to say either.

You might be boring to text. I hate when girls, and people in general, text me the usual "hey", "what's up?", "what you doing?", "how was your day?". We both know you don't give a shit what I did today or what I'm doing, it bores me to death. I usually just bring up something completely random, better than the god awful small talk.

Maybe he was shy and didn't know what to say. He might have been busy, don't stress. Maybe say "are you okay?" and introduce the problem.

They are lazy and many are not good at all with typing thinking of many things to say
