Why is he so uncomfortable around me?

He is a very talkative guy but around me, he is uncomfortable and not talkative at all! One time, he was giving me the answer and the entire time he was looking down. He stares at me, a lot and so does his group of friends. He never really tries to start a conversation with me as he had a chance to but did not take it. He talked to my friends, that he knows, when I around them but does not say anything to me. One time, he pass me in the hallway, and he looked surprised, mouth slightly open and raised eyebrows.

He most likely likes you, different people act different when they like someone, and he seems to be one of those people that is really nervous when he talks to you, there is a guy that i like that likes me too, but he isn't ready for a relationship, and he acts the same way, although he isn't that talkative or extremely confident, but acts a lot different around me like he's nervous, and I act the same way around him. Try asking him in private if he likes you.

It might be that he likes you, or something else could be going on, which nobody on here can really answer for you but either way he is uncomfortable around you for some reason. The best way to fix that is to try to make him feel more at ease. Try teasing him some or acting goofy around him so he feels like he can be himself more.

Sounds like a shy guy likes you. If he's not comfortable talking in person you could ask for his number / give him your number and go from there.

Or you could ask him for schoolwork help and then change topics; ask about his interests.

You don't have to be direct. Besides, having him as a friend wouldn't hurt, would it?
