Crush thinks I rejected him. Avoiding me?

After reading through some past questions I think the guy who I had a crush on for a very long time thinks I rejected him. I think he finally got up the nerve to try to ask me for my number because he pulled in his best friend and seemed to be looking at me and slowing down walking when they seen me.

BUT although I waited for this moment I was having a VERY bad day my eyes were red from crying my hair was a mess skin blotchy and I was walking with my hood on. I power walked past themwith my head down and I found out guys take that as a straight rejection even when if I didn't verbally say no.

Then I noticed he stopped going to the places I'd usually see him and I noticed him avoiding me. I ran into one time after the incident and tried to talk to him with a conversation starter. He answered but I froze and we ended up just staring at each other for like 5 seconds and he quickly walked away. He did seem to perk up after I tried that but he still avoids me now. What do I do? Is he over me? It seems like he's trying to be...

I would've took it as don't talk to me right now with a bit of slite rejection.

No if he was over you he would not be acting like you annoy him. I think you should go to him and explain how you were that day, than tell him very plainly that you are interested in him.
