Why is he avoiding me after I rejected him?

I was asked out by him and rejected him because I didn't think I was ready for a relationship. When we're in class he sits in the opposite side of the room and at breaks and lunches he hangs out elsewhere instead of where he used to. He still says thanks and stuff when I let him pass through the corridors but nothing else. He also unfriended me off Insta for some reason. Why is he doing this? He seems to be completely indifferent even though he unfriended me? Most guys who did this threw a fit and started chasing more.

Maybe he's not as hard-boiled as the guys you rejected to make them chase all the harder?

Maybe it was a big thing for him to ask you out and his confidence took a knock?

Sometimes the intellectual rationalisation is simple but the heart doesn't move on so easily?

Get one of your female friends to have a chat with him, so it's not you talking to him. Or a guy even.

It just to me doesn't sound like you trying to talk to him would do much good unless you actually now wanted to go out with him...
