Why don't guys in college approach me?

When I was in high school, every year a few guys would hit on me. Now that I'm in college, I only had one guy ask for my number this semester. When I walk to class or am just sitting somewhere on campus, guys just walk by like I'm invisible. There wasn't one guy who looked my way or tried sitting next to me to talk. None. Even guys in my class don't talk to me. It's pretty boring. The point is, being ignored like this on my first year of college makes me feel like I'm ugly. I see couples and guys hanging out with girls so I figured maybe I'm just unattractive to guys there or something. Why do college guys treat me this way?

It can be due to a lot of reason. For one College and High School on two totally different places. College is a much bigger place with a larger atmosphere with way more people. Sitting down an waiting for someone to approach you may have worked back in little ole High School, but in College, simply doing that will easily make you the least noticeable person on campus. Being more social, proactive and mingling with more people would place more eyes on you. Hell evening joining a club raises your chances of getting approached, since you're putting yourself out their more.

Another word of advice, is to not always expect the guy to approach you. Life is too short to wait for someone to make the move. If you find someone that you're attracted to, then take the initiative first and approach him.

Maybe because they are focused on education (which is what college is for allegedly) and not on how pretty you may be... it may be hard to realize but the world isn't only about looks and its not about one person grabbing the attention of others. you have to put yourself in situations to interact with people if you want to date someone. Just realize that there are plenty of fish in the sea so one more pretty girl doesn't make a difference.

Well, why don't YOU approach them? Guys don't always have to be the ones to make the first move. If you're interested in a guy, then you should take the initiative to talk and start a conversation. I think it's slightly unrealistic to just expect guys to always approach you. College is a different atmosphere than high school. It's bigger and there are more people so you may have to start approaching people yourself if you want to make friends or talk to guys.

However, it certainly doesn't mean you're ugly if you don't get approached. No guys ever approached me in college and I don't think I'm ugly, and you aren't unattractive either. You should try to gather up some courage to make the first move sometimes, that would make more sense than just sitting around and feeling bad :)

think for a minute, do you know anyone that is really really ugly? Believe me, you don't. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.
, Be confident. Confidence is key. In order to seem sexy to others, you need to believe in your own sexiness, first.
Say hello to everyone you know. Even if you don't know them very well, just say hello, everyone likes that and they will also say hello to you.
Try to talk with the people you know alone. Everyone is different, so it's very funny to start knowing them individually. Ask them about their hobbies

I went through a similar thing only I didn't get hit on in high school either. It's a very different environment and harder to get noticed in general.

I did begin to get hit on when I started being more confident and putting myself out there. My final year of college I got hit on quite a bit; because I was beginning to be happy with myself.

I would encourage you to approach guys you like and make sure to present yourself well and just be yourself! That's what worked for me.

i think that they are shy. but dont be sad because you look beautifull.. just wait for the right person like it doesn't have to be someone from school. you ca also meet someone online or from somewhere else

It was the opposite for me, but anyway: Socialize more. Talk to people. Be friendly and approachable. You're pretty, it's just I think you're keeping to yourself too much.
