My ex and I have an 8 year old son together, he disappeared when I was pregnant only to reappear when our son was 6, my ex and I decided to start up a relationship again.
During the last 2 years our relationship was always about us never about our son ( he hardly saw or asked much about our son)
2 months ago my ex started to become under extreme stress and I believe was becoming depressed. Until one day I got the " I can't commit to anything, you deserve someone who can, can we stay close friends and who knows what the future holds" speech.
This was 2 weeks ago since then he will contact me very couple of days 2-3 days a week and he is always the one to start the conversation even doubling up on text messages if I don't respond. We will talk for hours about anything and everything except what happened between us. I am always the one who ends the conversation.
On our last conversation he asked me if I have been seeing or heard from one of his friends ( my ex always believed that if we had split up his mate would make a move on me) my ex was quick to say it was non of his business but was just wondering. When I explained I have no contact at all with his mate and have no need to he went quite for a bit but then started to give me compliments saying I would look amazing when I get my hair done when I told him I was going to do it. He also started to encourage me in achieving my goals and explained why he had gone silent in the middle of our conversation. He started to refer to our son as our son instead of junior which is how he would in the pass.
Why did he ask if I had heard from his mate and is it possible he is having second thoughts about breaking it off with me?
