If a guy has always been the one texting first and stops?

This guy once mentioned that i don't talk to him at all. We've been talking for a few months and he has always been the one to text first. But it's been three weeks since he last texted so you could say we didn't talk since the year started. I'm now conflicted whether or not to contact him first, because i'm not sure if he might have lost interest or he got tired of always being the one initiating? I'm assuming since he didn't contact me till now which is already two weeks into 2015, he might no longer want to continue talking anymore?

Hey guys thank you for all the helpful responses! I did text him earlier today but his replies didn't seem enthusiastic or anything. I know i can't just interpret as that since its hard to tell but i take that as a hint so i guess he has probably lost interest. Its kind of saddening but im moving on too then :-)

The reason he stopped texting is because you have never been the one to start a conversation. He feels he is putting in all the effort. He probably feels that he hassling you and that you're not really interested in talking to him. You can't expect a guy to be the one to always start a conversation. Like you said he has got tired of always being the one to initiate the conversation and may well be loosing interest because of it. I recommend you message him first this time. All he wants is for you to start the conversation sometimes.

If I notice that I have to be the one to always text first, I will stop texting completely to see if she will finally bother to text me. I should not have to the the one to always contact her. It should be 50/50 or close to it. if she is not interested enough in me to send me a simple text, or call me which is even better, then I will move on to someone else. So if it went on long enough I will stop being the first to text for a while.
there is no reason she cannot text me. just like she needs to pay for dates as well

If I meet somone, and we go 3 dates and she does not even offer to pay for at least one thing we do, I move on to someone else. First off I lost everything I had in a divorce I didn't want. So I cannot afford to go out all the time. But also, she has to be at least willing to pay even if I don't let her.

Honestly don't think about it too much. If you like the guy just text him. Don't wait for him to text you all the time, if guys don't see you making an effort they move on. If someone NEVER initiated a conversation with me I'd personally take the hint and leave them to it.

No it's not :), it shows that you are an insecure person with no initiation and whatever you got from life was by cheer luck. I don't mind doing it in the beginning after after a while it gets exhausting and if you can't get a hold of your ego don't get involved with anyone.

One of the mistakes I used to make when talking to a girl, was starting off with a pace I knew I couldn't or wouldn't keep up. Like always being the one to initiate conversation, communicating daily, quick replies to all texts and calls. All of that becomes exhausting, you lose motivation after a while, but it doesn't mean my interest has faded

Whatever consistency of communication a guy wants a month or so down the road, he should start with that. Because once it slows down, to the rate he is naturally comfortable with, the girl then thinks he's lost interest.

This may not be the case here, but it's pretty common.

I'm actually glad I read this response. The guy I'm seeing started off texting every single day which took me time to get used to. Now he's slowed down a lot and I wondered if he was still interested, but he called me to make plans last week, sends the odd message And responds to my messages. So maybe he is still interested :/

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he is. Less consistent communication doesn't always equal less interest. Also, not to be a dick, but the conversations you ladies like to have with us are boring as shit. So that's also a factor, I'm sure he prefers seeing you in person, instead texting/calling back and forth which he most likely thinks is boring.

Guys have very short attention spans. And it sounds like he found another girl who replies to him more so he moved on to texting her. However, once that little 5 week epic fizzles out he may or may not send you the ultimate guy text, "hey what's up" or "long time no talk" just know its a guy thing period.
