Does my ex boyfriend miss me or feels guilty?

My ex broke up with me on NYE, haven't had any contact with him since (3 weeks ago). But last night he messaged me randomly saying "Hey, you ok? Im so sorry for everything and how it ended btw!" I messaged back saying " Im good you? Ahh its fine dont worry about it" Then he said" But it wasn't fine was it?" Me "Honestly its fine" Then he replied " ok only if your sure, don't feel like it was fine tho x" I didn't reply back as i dont want to talk about the break up anymore.

What does he mean by this? Does he miss me or has suddenly got a guilty conscience?

There might be something there. Honestly he could have felt a bit guilty but it happens. After breakup people tend to go back. But it depends how you look at it. Do you like him still? Why he break up with you?
Most of the break ups happen because always there is a good reason. But a few happens because of wrong decisions. So it really depends on you. If you feel the same, talk to him. If you are more happier, then let it go. He will get used to somehow. Best of the luck!

The reason he gave me cos he has "commitment issues" and wanted to be on his own for a bit. And it was nothing i did. But last night he just seemed really nice and apologetic. It has confused me and not sure if he knows himself what he wants.

But If he wants this relationship he has to work on and put some effort.
If I were you I would talk to him face to face. And say what I want ( if you want a relationship with him of course) A relationship is a relationship when two parts are commited. There is no exception.
If he still does not try , then decide definitely.

Thank you so much, this has helped me actually. Yeah, i do still have feelings for him but i have been dealing with it well as i have been focusing on myself and seeing friends! To be honest I don't see myself getting back with him after the way he treated me on NYE. I think id be an idiot to put myself at risk of getting hurt by him again.

Yeah but on NYE? That's when your supposed to be together when midnight hits and kiss. That's awful and sad :(. Now he want back in? You'd have to have a huge heart to let him come back to you. Good luck!

Well he hasn't actually said he wants me back but i just wish he would leave it alone now because it has been hard for me. I didn't even celebrate NYE as i was heartbroken! He has todo more if he wants me back!
