Is it okay to go to the prom single?

I'm a senior in high school and prom is a little more than a month away and I don't have a date to go with.

I have already asked two girls (one I'm still waiting on for a reply but just in case, I need a plan B). So is it okay to go to prom single? If not, do any of you guys or girls have good tips on finding a girl and asking?

To tell you the truth I really haven't had a true girlfriend. I just need some help!

It's ok to go to prom single, but only if you are ok with it

First off don't wait for the other girl to get back to you, if she was into you she would of said yes when you asked chances are she is waiting for a better offer.

If you really want to get a date for prom you are going to have to set yourself a goal that every day you will approach women that you want to go with, if you are having problems with fear and rejection, I will give you a tip to help you get through it quickly, give your friend some money, and tell him every time you approach a girl to chat and ask to prom you get some of my money back, if you have $50 tell your friend to give you back $10 for every approach.

Also to stop your emotions getting in the way make your self a rule that you will approach women within 3 seconds this way your emotions won't have enough time to react to the fear of rejection. It's your choice you can feel rejection for 3 seconds 3 mins 3 hours or 3 years its your choice.

Next depending on how well you know these girls and how much rapport you already have with them will dictate whether they will say yes or no, so if you already have a good connection with any women in your school ask them first.

Next you need to be able to walk away detached from the outcome of all situations. You want them to know that you couldn't care less if they say yes or not, if you have women you joke with you can always turn it around and say so why haven't you asked me to the prom its ok if your nervous I promise I won't bite hard. I may nibble a little, but don't expect too much I'm not that easy.

The mind set is you are playing hard to get and you know she would have a great time if she went with you. Another thing that needs to happen for a woman to really like you is to prove to her that other women are already into you. You can even say listen I have had a few women ask me if I want to go to the prom with them, however before I make a decision I wanted to give you the opportunity to come to the prom with me as I believe we will make all the other couples jealous. Their are many ways to handle it just take the mind set that they all want you, they just haven't realized it yet.

Hey dude, have a good time at your prom, no matter what. It will be a bit awkward without a date, but maybe you can find a group to go with or something.

Odds are, there's probably a girl in your same boat. Look her up and see if y'all can't get that figured out.

Either way, make sure your prom is memorable and that you have fun. Don't waste your time on something that'll piss you off or just make you regret your time spent there. After all, time is the one thing that there will never be more of, and it's your most valuable commodity.

I completly agree with you but can't really help it but I'm picky on what girls I like. I have to really have a physical attraction with them.

It's definitely better to go to prom by yourself than to go with someone you don't really know or like. It's a big night, one of the only formal events in your school years and it's expensive as hell so you want to have the best time possible.

Or you can go with a friend of a friend from a different city or something, if you know anyone that could set you up. Help the girl shop for prom dresses and maybe help pay. You want her to look super hot and sexy so all the other girls take notice and you won't need to worry about going solo again!

but don't lose hope maybe one of those two girls will say yes or even both at the same time I say just wait to see what they say and if they say the can't just ask a close girl-friend to go with you ur not going to get married that day ya are just ganna have fun but who knows maybe something more can happen that day good luck

If you don't get a date that's fine. Go out with your friends, plus this way you won't worry about ditching a date to dance with other girls.

My friends and I are going to our prom 2gether without dates and its def gonna help me be relaxed and have more fun without all the pressure of a date.

If you have nothing really invested for either of your two pending dates do not waste much effort. I went through something similar for my prom. I was the QB, the Champion wrestler and the good looking, nice, quiet, cookie cutter guy who did not have a girlfriend let alone ever had a real one.

That got some questions and rumors going around bout my orientation, believe me. What was I doing single, I had my pick of girls to go to prom with, right? Anyone I wanted and they would have been stoked about it, right? Maybe. I never really looked at myself that way, but everyone else did.

Long story short the girl I really liked had a boyfriend and I just didn't have the desire to have a date if it wasn't that girl. But I got caught up in thinking what other people would think of me if I went single to prom so I found a date. The second girl I asked was the one I went with. I think the only reason she said yes was because:

1. She was younger and the idea of going to prom as an underclassmen was cool I guess, and

2. It was the whole celebrity effect thing probably helped, plus her best friend was sort of head over heals for me at the time so that may have had something to do with it.

I had plenty of options I was just too oblivious to them. I had my sights set on one girl and was not open minded to other options. Once it finally came to prom, my date looked really pretty in her prom dress, but man was she a dull one. I think we both realized there was no connection and it made the whole experience kinda odd. Plus she was kinda going with another dude and didn't bother to tell me until the night before and then seemed to rub it in my face, but that's another subject.

From experience don't try to find a date for prom for the sake of having a date. If its going alone that your worried about ask a friend who may also be dateless to go with you and just have fun. Go with someone who you like spending time with and are comfortable with. There is probably a few good looking girls that you know that would be happy to be your date. Just be open to them, I wish I had been. Hindsight being 20-20 I would have done that or went with the group of football players that had no dates either. God knows it may or may not have been a lot more fun. Anyways, good luck my man! It will work out one way or another, it always does.

Going to the prom alone sucks eye slime off a dead dog.

It makes you feel like an idiot to go thru all that trouble for a tux and whatnot for nothing while everyone else has a date. The only reason I went to my school prom was so I can say I was there. But I actually had a hatred for every damned woman in my school for not liking me. Best way is to go in a group as someone else mentioned.

How did I ever survive the lonely prom? I went with a date to different school prom. Felt much better even though I didn't score!

It is ok to go to prom single but I recommend going with a group of people if your gonna do that other wise you might seem kinda creepy drifting from group to group at prom. Man just be yourself and ask a girl who you think would be fun to go with just as friends. You don't need a girlfriend.
