Is it embarrassing to go to prom alone?

I really wanted to go to prom with a date (esp. since my ex got a new girl). One guy I like isn't going because 1) our proms are the same night 2) he might want to go with someone else, if he has... 3) money. Another guy asked another girl in front of me.

I really want a prom date, but should I just go alone? Will I have any fun? Everyone I mostly talk to has dates already so I'm just an awkward turtle, I guess. 😰😭

Yeah, I wouldn't go. If you could get a group of single friends to go with you, that's an option. Otherwise, MAYBE you can find someone else to hang out with during prom, maybe go on a date if you can find a guy who's free. That'll make up for it probably.

I know, my crush is very... odd... about accepting my invitations to hang out or get lunch, and I wanted to ask her to prom in person but it became too late.
The one good opportunity I had, I pussied out.
There's still HER school's prom though. So MAYBE.

Anyway, good luck with your situation. I don't think prom is THAT bad to miss.

Hey! Remember that prom is supposed to be fun ;D. People make it way to big of a thing so only go if you want to have fun. It won't be a big deal if you didn't go in about less than a year from now. (I'm extrapolating your age since your above number says 18-24 and you're still in high school making you a senior and 18 years old)

Find a good friend who is a guy and go with him. You will have an amazing and fun time. Another bonus to this scenario: you will always love your pictures and won't have any sour feelings about your date when you look back. :)
