Guys: Does "I've been thinking about you a lot lately" have a hidden meaning or something?

My ex said this to me, He and I are on great terms. We dated for a couple years, years ago and were engaged. For the most part we are just friends but we do flirt heavily a lot (sometimes x-rated flirting). I had recently come clean and told him that he was my first. He was surprised of course and oddly really happy, dare I say giddy about it. Then today, he tells me that he's been thinking about me a lot and dreaming about me (us snuggling in bed together). It's not the first time he's shared a romantic/sex dream he had about me. We don't exactly live close to each other either. I guess, I'm just trying to figure out if my coming out about having been a virgin when we met has made him desire me more, or if it's some sort of ego boost.

It sounds to me like he's been "thinking about you" in a romantic/sexual context. He may even want to get back together. I wouldn't go for it, though. As someone who came back when my ex wanted me, I think it's usually a mistake; If he's willing to resurrect his feelings for you and--possibly in the future, your relationship--simply because of this news about you being his first, you should ask yourself, "How strong, then, can his feelings be if they can be resurrected by something so purely physical, so detached from emotional appeal, as my virginity?"
I'm not surprised if it made him desire you more; news like that can do that to many men. But even if he really, REALLY wants you, passion based so strongly in the flesh rather than in intellectual connection is, in my opinion, not going to last. It usually just leads to heartbreak because, in my limited experience, relationships will end without a stronger, longer-term foundation than cuddling, making out, sex, etc. ESPECIALLY if they've ended once before.
