My boyfriend says I remind him of his ex girlfriend?

My boyfriend told me I remind him of his ex girlfriend, he said I look like her a bit and we have some things in common, when I tell him it bothers me he says "No I am sorry, you are so different, you are better, and I love you so much, with you its different, she is not good as you" But it bothers me a lot. I can't even understand if he's with me because he loves me or because I remind him of her.
What does it all mean? I am so confused... :(

And also our mutual friend told me that me and his ex do look alike and he started talking with me in the first place just because of that what does that mean?

he is benchmarking you and you are better than her.. believe me he ill forget her and you will be good.. maybe he remembered girls behavior maybe alike but eventually you are not her. chill up he is yours..
