What does it mean when a guy friend says "You look better without makeup" and "You don't need makeup"?

It means exactly what he says. I wouldn't look to much into it. That's the problem with us girls, haha. We overanalyze what guys say. We just have to take things at face value. It's just a compliment. It could mean multiple things.

It could mean he just wants you to be yourself and wants you to see your own beauty. I have guy friends that are very supportive like that and have told me that I look better/don't need make-up - I don't wear it often. It doesn't mean anything else than that when they tell me. They could just be trying to raise your self-esteem or boost your ego especially if you might be moping around "guys never liking you" or being "too ugly." *I'm not saying that is what you do, LoL.*

It could mean that he likes you and is trying to subtly flirt with you and wants to see how you react to what he says. I've had multiple guy friends give me compliments that have meant much more than just simply being friendly/nice. I later found out that it was because they liked me. A complicated situation I'm in now with a guy friend turned... well, complicated whatever he is to me now had somewhat stemmed from compliments he'd given me.

It could just be an observation that he made and he finally decided to voice his opinion on it. I have many friends that are obsessed with make-up and can't live without it and they think they are ugly without it on. I think that they are soooooo much prettier without make-up caked on their faces and that the natural look is the way to go. I have voiced my opinion about it multiple times. Guys do the same sometimes. If they are your friend and especially if they are a close friend, they might tell you that.

Like I said, it could mean anything. It could mean nothing. There are literally so many things that it could mean (or not mean), but it's definitely not worth it to overanalyze it because it will most likely make you go nuts, haha.
