What does, "You're far from ugly" mean?

I usually hear that when someone puts themselves down saying "I feel ugly" when they are actually quite beautiful, so someone says "What do you mean? You're far from ugly!"

It means you are not ugly, and you probably lean towards attractive / very attractive.
