Why do guys care so much about having "hot" girlfriends?

Okay, before you jump on me with standards and all, I get them. Everyone wants something good for them, but recently I have noticed too much questions from guys wanting hot girlfriends. They didn't even list some kind of personality trait or something they are looking for, just to be hot. 😒

well, it depends on how the questions are set up, really. like, if they're just saying they want a hot girlfriend and nothing else, then that's 1 thing. if they're describing the type of girl they want, then that's another. i wouldn't expect a person to describe every or any aspect of the personality they want. why? it's too hard. i mean that in the sense that saying you want a girl who is funny or shy or outgoing is arbitrary. there are certain situations where you might like a shy girl, but then some instances where you'd like her to actually speak her mind. or that being funny is subjective. i like to think i'm funny. a lot of people think i'm absolutely hilarious... however, without direct interaction, there's no way i can express the type of humor or how funny i actually am. i think it works the same when describing or asking questions about girls. and frankly, a lot of that stuff you can hash out by just talking to her. as much as i personally would like a hot chick as a girlfriend, i just can't handle stupid or someone who just physically wears me out (i'm laid back and can do nothing but chill all day). but at the same time, i'm the same guy who wants to climb mountain, jump out of planes, etc.

Because a lot of guys objectify women and treat them as property rather than people. As a result, having a "hot" girlfriend is like something that you show off to your friends, like having the newest iPhone or gold rims on your car or other shallow shit like that.

Because too many guys don't care about the woman's personality or even that she's a person at all... they only care about what she looks like so other people will think highly of HIM. It's a pretty sad thing.

Hot = means both the big head & little head are aroused
+ full frontal bear hugs feel incredible (suggesting sex would also be a more pleasant fit/experience)
+ others covet such gals = like earning a trophy to carry or wearing a tux about town
+ better service on outings
+ after marriage, offspring have a better chance in life getting ahead
... but mostly it's the little head getting aroused more often w/o the big head having to work so "hard"

hmm it actually something very technical.. whenver a guy sees a hot girls , subconsciously he thinks she 'll be able to give our child good genes. well yea its truth that most guys would liked to be respected rather than loved.

Because it's probably something that boosts their confidence, and enjoy having other guys look at his girlfriend knowing he has her. They want others to be envious.

Personality doesn't mean the same thing to men as it does to women. No guy wants a cunt, but that's pretty much the only personality trait a woman needs to be dated: don't be a cunt.

Women tend to be a lot more forgiving of looks if a dude is a solid dude, whereas a woman's accomplishments and attitude mean fuck all if she's an uggo. Some average man with high self esteem, confidence, determination, steady income, playfulness, leader-like qualities, a large social circle, etc are gods in the eyes of women, yet a woman with these same qualities are typically only desired by the select few of loser men who get anxious thinking about responsibility.

Now, as for why? I don't think anyone truly knows why looks mean more to men outside of 'men are more visual', or theories revolving around the idea of men being self-sufficient and not needing a 'provider' partner, so physical attraction is stronger than women who are less independent so they seek a partner who proves his worth to take care of her. Either way, there's nothing you can do about it besides accept it and add 'doesn't care about looks' to your boyfriend criteria.

I could say the same about girls. Why do girls want a bad boy to change or a rich guy? Let's be honest, the whole looking nice on the inside/ personality is not looked at if you don't look attractive. I in particular like hot girls sure but if they are playing mind games, they are out. I look for both personality, red flags and beauty.

There are many ways to be hot. For me , looks ARE a priority like any other guy but it's not EVERYTHING. Sure I'm human too and if a girl is too ugly i would not be able to bear (unless I'm REALLY in love) but i find other things more appealing like submission, tenderness, knowledge, innocence and wisdom.

These are almost always high maintenance girls, and it's like having a hot car--a status symbol you can show your friends to impress them.

Very shallow behavior typical of teens, but this continues into adulthood for many guys.

Because my last girlfriend was stunning and I'm visually oriented. At some point a girl is going to ask to see pics of my exes. I'm not good at lying and I'm very poetic. I want to believe it when I say to someone I think they're the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on.
