When your bestfriend jokes about being in love with you?

my best friend ( a guy) sent me a really long text about how he's in love with me and how he thinks of me 24/7 and how i'm the muse to his music... and then he texted me saying that he wants me to think about it but never talk about it , so I freaked out and i got really scared and chenged the subject, but then he told me that his other friend wrote the text and it was a joke. it's confusing , can you tell me what does that mean? is he lying about the joke thing? what should I do?

My absolute best friend did that to me - sent me a text along the lines of "I really like you, like really, you don't understand how much". We were so close so I freaked out a bit and didn't answer him until the next day and asked if he'd been serious and I wasn't sure what to say but he just pretended it was a quote from a film.

Sounds like he was just trying to judge your reaction.

it isn't a joke, he wrote it declaring his love, you didn't respond the way he hoped so he pussied out.
you should talk to him about it or else you'll have the tension between you 2

No, he is certainly not lying. He wanted to judge your response, and maybe take it further if you liked him to. But he also got freaked out about losing the friendship if you did not feel the same, so he brushed it off by saying it was a joke.

The truth is.. he DOES like you. No question about that.

Do you like him too? If so, pursue the matter further. But if you think of him as just a friend, just pretend that he never sent you that text.

i really don't know how I feel , sometims it seems that it's be the most perfect relation ship and sometimes even the idea of us together disgusts me

Then you need to take some time to figure out how you feel against him, and once you are sure of that, you need to act accordingly.

You're most welcome! I have been in situations where I have really liked my female friends, but never even let them know, and forcibly killed my feelings before they grew stronger. So I can actually relate to what that guy might be going thorough.

well he's my bestfriend and I love him to death , but reading that long text got my heart racing and it felt so scary that I had tears in my eyes , my legs couldn't lift me anymore , that's how confusing it was, i didn't know if I should be happy or sad , I had no idea what to feel , i was just scared
