My boyfriend says Iloveyou to his girl best friend. Is it normal?

Were still teenagers. His girlbestfriend is actually also my friend but before me my boyfriend used to have a crush on her. Like super big crush. But they didn't get together and are now close best friends. But somethings make me uncomfy of how close they are. Especially the fact that they say iloveyou to eachother. My boyfriend would start he would say it in a sweet way then my friend would return it. I told him lots of times even before finding this out that those things make me uncomfortable and i even begged cause im really getting hurt already. But when i borrowed my friend's phone i unexpectedly saw a screenshot of their convo saying iloveyou to eachother. I broke up with him because of it. My mental health can't handle these kinds of things anymore. Before this, I've already been hurt a lot of times. I always prioritize how he feels but i can't say the same for him.
