My question is regarding my male coworker/superior (let's call him, John) .
A few days ago, I was on my lunch in the office (it's an open space so no cubicles). My female coworker (say, Amy) asked John if he knew I was "hapa", half Asian half white. Any, recently found out I was hapa and was surprised. John, turned around from the computer pausing for a few seconds and says "yep". People usually assume I am Filipina or Latina. I asked how? John says along the line of, "well, your hair, it's natural. Your nose, skin tone". My hair is Chestnut colored as I've never dyed it, I don't swim either. He continued to stare at me looking at my face and hair.
John, is handsome and has made comments on me wearing lipstick and asked for the occassion.
Is this something guys notice in people in general?
