I'm learning about this in a class, and one theory out there is that because society in general, males and females, are obsessed with youth, men like women, fully grown, who appear adolescent like in body type. Females shaving their body hair is a contributor that gives women a more youthful look. And females often like males who are physically capable, usually someone in their 20's, which is still quite young. Subconsciously, I think it has to do with history, females used to be pubescent younger while still appearing youthful and males were usually settled down in life younger as well. I dunno though these are all theories and I always fall asleep in that class, so a lot of this could just be misplaced info I hear while being half asleep lol.

I have a lot of guy friends. I have guy friends that like petite girls. I have a friend who is engaged to a 6'2" 250 lb girl. Everyone has a preference. Men aren't these singular creatures that only want one thing. Shaming a girl for not being curvy saying she looks like a child (regardless of being an adult) is just as bad as a guy not liking curvy girls.

If they're grown, then they are a grown woman, and you can't tell people that if they are dating a legal adult that they are dating a child. It's genetics, men are attracted to the healthiest most youthful girls because that's just how nature works. And men aren't attracted to "skinny" girls, just slim girls. A 19 year old with a 19 BMI for example would be physically better to produce a child than a 34 year old with a 22 BMI.
Whereas it's different with men. Men are at their child producing peak later in life (25 - 35 roughly), therefore women are attracted to men around that age.

I think in general, men like women that are smaller than them, so average height and short guys, are gonna like even smaller women. I like women to be between, 5'3" and 5'8" since I'm 5'8". I do prefer slim women with small breasts, but I like a thick butt and thighs. My brother likes women to be shorter than him too, but he's 6'2". He also likes super curvy women. So really it's very dependent on the individual. I like really pail girls with light eyes and hair, my older brother likes them all around dark, my younger brother likes dark hair and eyes, but light skin. As you can see, even we three brothers have very different tastes.

So let's clear something up. Men (or me anyway) aren't lusting after women who look like they are 15. What we are looking for is a woman who looks like she didn't give up on herself at 22 and start gobbling ice cream on the couch and start binging Lifetime movies on TV.
Skinny girls vs curvy? Is that a nice way of saying you have a problem with guys rejecting out of shape overweight couch potatoes? I'm not gonna apologize for that. I want someone who can do some things I like to do and keep up with me. I find fit, active women appealing and a good match for my lifestyle. If you can't ride a bike or run 5 miles and your belly is bigger than your chest and your ass spills over the edges of a barstool, you're not my type of gal. Fat girls are not appealing to me.
Short girls vs tall? I actually like tall women. But I don't meet many. Most women seem to be 5'2" to about 5'6". According to AI only 25% of women in the US are taller than 5'6". That means 3 out of 4 women are 5'6" or shorter. Men aren't to blame for that. Women can wear heels if they want to appear taller. I'm sure some guys like super petite women. I'm not one of them. But men are not some monolithic personality. We have a wide range of tolerance for height. And frankly I don't think men focus on it all that much. It's not something that women can control except for wearing heels.
It sounds like your question is just bitching because guys, or at least the guys you want aren't choosing you because you're tall and fat and you think you're entitled to their attention anyway. Nope, that's not how attraction works. You get to make your choices and we get to make ours.
I think it's a combination of things. It was once common for young girls to be married off to much older men. Also, younger women are seen as less threatening and as silly as that seems there are men that struggle with their place as men in a society that has seen adult women make such significant inroads. Add those two factors into a culture that is all too willing to use young adult females in sexualized portrayals of young girls and you have a recipe that will find its place with a certain percentage of the male population.
This is very complicated. Attraction is purely emotional. Not all guys are attracted to the same thing. And even the same person will feel different emotions at different times. I have seen 16 year old girls that I am attracted too just as I have seen older women that I am equally attracted too. I have seen homely girls that I am very attracted too. It all tends to be how it strikes you at that moment.
I do agree with many of the posters here that a projection of vulnerability is a motivator for a man. I am attracted to Asian woman. Asian women have very fine delicate features... a projection of vulnerability.

The issue you're running into far more is that a lot of mid-late teen women have bodies - and fertility - that's really close to the 'ideal'. I happen to think it depends on the person really. Most men prefer small women because they can "protect them" and don't feel as if their dominance can be tested by their partner. It's weird I know and I still fail to wrap my head around the idea. But in my experience there are plenty men who don't mind tall ladies either. Yes men find youth and beauty attractive for the same reason women find men who are mature and stable attractive. It goes to the animal instincts we have to carry the species.
When you look at when humans only lived to be 30, a 14-18 year old girl was at her peak for procreation. Our instincts for being attracted to that doesn't just change because humans have found a way to live longer. Therefore a younger more physically attractive female will always be more alluring than a female past her prime (repetitively speaking) which is called ephebophile (attraction to 14-18yr olds) and almost all men are ephebophiles. It is not wrong or creepy or gross, it's simply natural human instinct. Acting on this is now very frowned upon so most of us do not do anything about it.
I like slim girls to a certain extent... They can't be too skinny, I've seen plenty of beautiful curvy and thick women and would be more than ecstatic to get with one. I actually prefer tall girls over short ones, tall girls have great legs and have a more "adult" composition as opposed to short girls. I'll always consider short girls "cute" but very rarely will I find them sexy like I do with tall girls.
