Why do guys like small, petite, fragile girls?

I get told I’m super fragile and dainty looking and it’s usually why guys like me. But why do guys like this?

I'd guess it stems from an innate desire to protect in the animal kingdom. Smaller usually means weaker, therefore more vulnerable, therefore more in need of protection, therefore making us more useful. Like a great dane compared to a labrador (I felt 'chihuahua' seemed too insulting).

Plus, it's cute as hell; the smaller the woman, the cuter we find her. Smaller projects an extra air of innocence, and that means cute. Speaking personally, I can't help but smile in the presence of a cute girl (regardless of size) and that makes me feel good inside :)

It can also be sexy. Smaller in general means smaller in /specific/ ways. And everything next to something smaller naturally seems relatively bigger in relation, and that's an ego boost in itself. And and, it tends to mean the act is generally less labor-intensive, because smaller means less weight to shift around as needed.

Because part of the differences between the two genders (keep in mind there are only two genders total) is the Anatomy. Men have wide, broad shoulders, are taller and have muscle. Women are smaller, have thinner bones, wide hips, narrow shoulders.

As for why that makes us men attracted to females like that? Well simply because it is hardwired into us. Same reason girls like tall guys. There is a difference between men and women. We are not the same. And that is okay

Don't let anyone try to tell you there are more than one gender, or that men and women are the same. We are different in so many ways, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that

there are two stereotypical mindsets men come in (and they are by no means the ONLY mindsets men come in, just the stereotypes):

Conqueror and defender.

And small, petite, fragile girls appeal to both.

For a conqueror, they are easily overpowered, and easy for him to make his, while he feel particularly powerful, compared to her.

For a defender, they seem vulnerable, and protecting them and making them feel safe make him feel needed, and particularly powerful, compared to her.

It is worth saying that neither type is, inherently, the bad guy or good guy. Some women WANT a guy to conquer them, and the guy who does so never mistreats her. And some guys look for a girl that he can position himself as a defender of, only to try to use his position to get from her a reward he thinks he deserves.
So you can have good people, and bad people, on both sides.

But in general, that type of girl appeals to guys because it appeals to their desire to hold a position of masculine power, which can either manifest in a desire to take for oneself and have ownership of, or a desire to protect and provide.

IMHO, mainly because of instinct.

Instinct, because men tend to take nature's role of protector and provider when in a relationship, and having a smaller, more dainty mate allows us to feel needed and necessary on that very fundamental level. While this isn't an absolute truth for every man, it is a tendency that has prevailed through the years. This is also part of why guys tend to prefer to date girls who are shorter than them.

In this hard world its good to have something soft which can fit in your hands or can be wrapped around easily. More likely i like it because it gives me reason to nurture a love and protect and care for someone. Care is a very soft essence And that is why i love them. They are cute. Just their glance can easily make your day, even their angry face is beautiful. :D :)

A we can pick you up and throw you over our shoulder easy. If you need us to carry you. It's good when stepping over a threshold in your new place etc. And dandy or petite gals are usually more flexible and can assume more positions during sex. I can probably think of other reasons as well.

I think it makes most guys feel more secure about themselves. Society preaches about men protecting and caring for the ones he loves. What better to protect then a beautiful, short, fragile girl? Plus I don't know why but hugging a chick that's smaller then me just feels really good

It's has to do with our instinct to protect the weak, even if your not weak but look weak as u said, in our genetics, protection was typically rewarded, with food, sex and/or housing etc, while that may not still always be the case and while we may not be expecting any of that, it's still a genetically desired kind of relationship.

Everybody has different preferences. For some, maybe they just like the look. For others, maybe they like feeling like they would be your protector. And others, maybe they have a thing for children but know they can't do that, so this is the next best thing.

Probably because men would want to protect something that appears vulnerable. It makes them feel manly. Kinda like a damsel in distress situation like a Disney princess.
