Well actually 38d is more busty than 34d. And the same for your other example. You can't really expect guys to understand how bra sizes work of you don't understand it yourself. A woman with a larger rip-cage is assumed to have larger chest as well

So the number represents how big your rib cage is. The cup represents how big your chest is in relation to your rib cage.
A sister size to 36c would be 32dd, which is more volume than 32c. So it's the opposite of what you claimed. Similarly a sister size of 38d would be 34ddd , which again is bustier 34d

Now that's in theory, in reality they're all over the place

News to me, I have always wondered what the difference is, but it looks a little creepy asking about bra sizes in the department store or holding them up and comparing the bra bands and cups!

I believe you can get arrested for that type of fact finding mission, even if you say you're just trying to learn :P

I actually figured this out at a really young age. But that's because I was curios and looked up how bra sizes where measured. I also learned the difference between The UK and The US and The Japanese sizes. By the end of it all I just decided I was happy I was a guy.
