O I wish I kept a response that someone gave me when I asked this question.
No it is not a way of saying your avarage or ugly. Your Cute that is a whole other side pile. Think puppys they are cute no questions asked. When I'm described as cute I kind of feel like saying and... what else? But were just cute. The definition of cute is attractive in a pretty usually or endearing way. I have always been called cute I don't know why but I am. I wish that I would get described as handsome but I rarely do. Two of my close female freinds are almost always described as cute. Why well that is what best describes them.
If your a women usually getting called cute an easy way to tell if a guy likes you is if her calls you beautiful. A guy called you beautiful so he most likely likes you. Some people are just described best as cute. Many men like cute women. I have my eye on a very beautiful and cute women at the moment myself.

If it's genuine, being called cute is one of the best compliments you could get. It's not just about being attractive, but also having a vibe/personality that is endearing.
A gorgeous girl can be cute if she has a personality that makes you want to date her, you know, those girls that care about you, that are reliable, that are smart, funny, goofy...
I, and many other guys (I'd say most guys that want relationships) want to date cute girls, cause they're the best.
Why do women hate the term cute? Most guys I know like a cute girl, its not a measure of how good she looks but the type of look. A hot girl is a girl you want to have sex with, a cute girl is one you want to cuddle etc, same level different sides of the spectrum. Cute is not a bad thing.
No it's definitely a good thing!!! It would be one way to say that I'm into you and attracted to you. I know it's weird though because I might say a dog is cute but it can mean different things depending on who it's said to. If I said it to a girl around my age or older it would mean I was attracted to her. Lol it's confusing I know! It's also more confusing because you can be attracted to someone but still not want them as a partner.
Cute means, generally that you are pleasant to be around and are friendly in most situations, and don't get angry over trifles. It usually doesn't relate directly to how attractive you are, though it implies you are pretty to some degree.

Some people think "cute" is less than "pretty" is less than "beautiful" and etc, and others *don't* think those terms are heirarchical... To know what that/those particular guy (s) mean, you might actually have to talk to them...
Cute to me means lovable and cuddly looking. Has the looks that I want long term.
