New boss acts strange around me, and I don't know why?

I recently started a new job and my manager acts very strange towards just me. During the first couple of weeks, he acted as if I didn't even exist. He wouldn't look at me even if I talked to him but gave the appropriate attention to everyone else. At first I just blew it off thinking that's just how he is, but after a while it started to frustrate me. I didn't do anything to make him hate me, at least I don't think. After all, I just started the job! One day he finally made some eye contact with me and I was completely surprised and the longest conversation we had was when all the others were out of the office and it was just me and him. Now he will make eye contact, but still avoid me sometimes and rarely makes conversation. I don't have any issues with any of the other managers who are also guys which is why it's so strange to me. I can't even compare this to other girls, because I'm the only girl in our office.

There's two options I'm thinking of: either he's just a guy who wants nothing to do with any girls, or he has some feelings towards me and is trying to hide it. Any ideas?

i think hi has some feeling in him toward you but not have enough courage to tell you directly. I feel this because when i have some feeling for others i became a shy type person in front of her. And not able to express myself. So sometimes i used to play trick of starting ignoring her and then she used to come to me and talk to me :p which i enjoyed

make some good friends in your office then you will feel secured and after being good friends share your problem with them they will definitely help you out.

You had just started working there. He's your boss, not your friend or romantic interest.. If he performs his job and treats you fairly in your workplace, I don't see an issue.

... Why do you want your boss to be overly friendly with you? I'd prefer it when my bosses were completely indifferent and minded their own business.

He could be attracted to you; he avoids you to not create any type of perception. You can ask him how your performance is and if there is anything that you can do to improve? This will at least give you an idea where you stand.

Girl trauma.
A girl in his past was responsible for a traumatic experience that resulted in him having a deep embedded grudge towards you.
I'd kill the person who was behind bringing my past into the present if i could.
