Why is my boss seemingly uneasy and awkward around me?

He always seems really awkward and shy. He'll stutter and his body language seems really timid. For example, we were sat talking at my desk today and he was sat on his hands hunched over.

With others he's quite demanding and confident, whereas he'll say things like "don't panic" and "it's not the end of the world" to me.

I don't want someone to feel like they're walking on eggshells around me.

He does not feel like you think. He is trying to keep you and has noticed something in your character that is not conducive to high stress.

I have one like you too BUT she has not made an Error in 7 years. She has created her own quality control department because of this.
She is slower and requires more time to weed through and embrace Operational chaos. Seemingly, a bottle neck to close deals personalities but simply cautious.
Perhaps, he sees this in you ⁉️

I would not think so. For whatever reason, he seems to be careful with you. Do your work well and be happy as possible.

But he's more assertive with everyone else. Why would he be worried about making me uncomfortable?

You're a young woman, and the unfortunate reality is that your demographic has an unfortunate pattern of misinterpreting things and creating problems for your male superior officers. Men in charge in the workplace are wary of dealing with younger female employees... things can get weird fast, so they just assume it's safer to limit the amount of time they deal with you alone, and never do anything that could be seen as pushy or controlling.

Sounds like he favor's you over the others, which he shouldn't. A boss should keep an even keel across the board.
