Why does my boyfriend make inappropriate jokes about other girls?

I love my boyfriend and I think he's the greatest except that sometimes he makes really hurtful jokes. I just choose to ignore it when he does but this morning I just had enough. He makes jokes about having other girls in different ways. He says stuff like "oh then I guess I have to find someone else to have sex or dinner with." He makes jokes about how I would hook up with my colleague. He likes other girl's pictures on Instagram and especially this one girl who has an interest in him. I've been thinking that I shouldn't bother but now I've had enough. I'm at a family party with him right now and I'm so pissed at him I have chose to ignore him. He's been asking me what's wrong and is trying to cheer me up but I don't want to start a fight with him now. I have even started considering breaking up with him because of how it makes me feel. I'm too ashamed to tell my friends about the whole thing, I don't really know what to do.

Yeah if he's making inappropriate jokes about girls sure you have every
right to be upset with him. You need to open a wider door of communication
with him and lay the cards on the table and tell him just how you feel about things
I agree he doesn't sound serious about relationships, maybe he needs something
to open up his eyes more so he realizes that he is hurting your feelings by doing these
things he's not being fair to you.

Because he does not know how much it upsets you. Tell him how you feel, your relationship will not work without honest and open communication.

talk to him about it. it might lead to a fight but its better than just ignoring it
