Why do guys take such awful selfies?

Anytime a guy sends me a pic (unless he is catfishing) it is so horrible a picture! looking down double chin, no shirt on, unkempt hair. like for real guys! If you want to impress me learn how to take a nice selfie

B. Girls take selfies more so they've had more practice.
C. Girls are generally more artistic.
D. Girls take tons of selfies and choose the best.
E. Most girls take awful selfies too (No smile, duckface, unnatural looking angles etc.)

Because they take realistic photos!
We girls get all glammed out, guys don't. If they look good it just happened to be a day they dressed well. Most aren't gonna go all out just for a pic then have to take everything off.

If anything I'm happy it's that way. I know what kind of guy he is on the regular and it's nice to see that he cleans up well when given the occasion

You have to take enough selfies to know your angles. If you're in the dating game, you have to take at least a mildly flattering picture or no one is going to want to meet up with you.

Selfies don't determine worth. It's sad that we live in a time where it feels like if I don't have a Snapchat account, or Instagram, or regularly use Facebook or take selfies, I'm somehow less likely to be attractive to women.

Or maybe have a lesser perceived value or social stature to other men, that are worshiped due to simply having a social media presence or being fun at parties and having the greatest Snap story afterwards, or whatever. It's ridiculous. It's like somehow you're left in the dark for living life in the real world these days.

Youd rather have to do what guys have to do and try to figure out what pics are somewhat close to reality but rarely a completely honest representation of reality. Youd rather guys be able to hide 150 extra lbs with a good angle, hide acne scars with make up and filters, and raise your expectations and hopes only to send you crashing in disappointment and the feeling of betrayal.

Women are artist when it comes to selfies and catfishing... i think us men would prefer shitty selfies and realistic expectations.

Most of us would rather not take pictures of ourselves at all, but if you want one, we'll send one - but you're going to get the REAL person, not some fake "idealized" version that doesn't exist in real life.

Because it's just a pic, not a headshot for a modeling agency, besides, not all girls are that "concerned" about perfect selfies from guys, and guys don't really think it's worth the time and effort just to "impress" someone.

Personally I rather see a natural pic of a girl than a pic with the "right" angle, or lighting, with filters and all that crap that totally change how you look in real life.

A lot of reasons. Makeup, filter, angle, lighting all play a huge role to get a good selfie. Also, we girls take like 10 selfies and only choose max 2 pics among those 10. Sometimes, none. Then, another 10 attempt until we are happy about it. Guys on the other hand, just take one or two (without filter, makeup) just because his girlfriend requested it.

Because all they do is taking a picture. A simple snap while girls try 100 different angles, lightning, makeup and even do their hair if they really want a "bombshell" selfie.
