Why do guys act differently around their friends and act differently around me?

Seems like a dumb question, but I'm seriously wondering. This guy, he treats me so nicely and I think he likes me back however he acts so much differently around me than with his friends. When he is with his friends, he acts like he is one of them (like he is so cool when really he is so shy). Also, when he tries to act like "one of them", he DOES NOT talk to me at all. Does he want to be accepted by his friends? Or what? Please no mean comments!!

He doesn't want his friends to tease him all the time.
Basically his friends probably know about you and tease the shit out of him like most dudes and then now he overcompensates by pretending you don't exist.
It could also just be that he wants to save his reputation around friends. Because I know when dudes get emotional about girls other dudes take the piss even if you just being nice.

It's weird almost like they mention her so much you associate bad shit with her 😂. Maybe that's just me.

he might be louder around his friends because he is more comfortable. if he says something wrong around his friends they will 99% of the time let it go. but if he likes you there's more pressure to not mess up. he is therefore nervous and goes back to talking to his friends and not you.

He's obviously going to act normal around his friends when you're with them. His friends are gonna notice that something's up if he changes that.
