Went out on two dates with this guy who seems interested in me, but I've noticed that I'm always the one to initiate the text conversations. Whenever I text him, he always responds quite fast, but he never initiates them.

Should I back off the texting and see what he does? But doesn't he think that I'm not interested in him then?

This is the current issue I have with a guy I'm seeing. Everyone I know is so quick to say if he doesn't text first he's not interested but I feel like he's replying so he still wants to talk. I might stop hitting him up for a day and see what transpires.

Right? He must be interested if he replies and wants to spend time with you because if he wasn't interested, he could just have said it or not respond at all. But this is not the case, which is a good sign for both of us haha. I actually thought that I was the only one with this problem because all off my friends said exactly the same thing as your friends, that if a guy doesn't text first, he's not interested but I just think some guys are just really busy and doesn't communicate as good through texts.

Does he seem excited when talking to you?
I have the same problem as him, I rarely text first but when people text me I'm always happy to talk. It happens because I'm busy or focused with other things so I don't have time to initiate the texting

Yeah, whenever I text him, he responds fast and even seems happy to hear from me. Also, when we actually meet in real life, he really shows all the signs of being interested in me.
