This shouldn't be a surprise, but, with short hair you'll generally attract different boys than with long hair (and if you normally keep yr hair UP, you'll also attract different boys than if you usually wear it DOWN).

At the end of the day, you're 19 years old — with all the fun and freedom that comes with being 19 years old.
Consider:
• Even if you cut yr hair short and hate it... you can always get yr long hair back. All you have to do is wait, and possibly deal with some "awkward phases" at certain lengths.
(And even if you just freak the fuck out and rllyrllyrlly can't stand it... you could always mess around with wigs/extensions/weaves/etc — which, ironically, could allow you to play around with a bigger variety of LONG-hair looks).
• Being 19 years old — where you can fuck around with yr appearance with pretty much complete freedom, even recklessness — is something you can NEVER get back. When you're older, and you've entered the working world, there will suddenly be a whole new set of criteria you'll need to judge whenever you think about ANY new look. Believe me, you'll be glad to have already experimented by that point.
• And please, oh for fuck's sake PLEASE, do not make these kinds of decisions according to what you think boys will or won't like.

Other than that — the objective is for YOU to try on different looks, and to see which look (s) make YOU most comfortable, most confident, and most lustin' for life.
I really really appreciate you and this but I just asked because I was curious as to how men react with short hair on women they already like. Will they just stop because of it? The answer was yes and no, surprising. Anyway, I plan to do this with my hair regardless of any negative opinion :)
It depends on the man.
As I mentioned at the link... my husband (who is... oohhh gurl... every filthy wet dream I've ever had, come to life) LOVES short hair on women in general, and even more so on his wifey (that'd be me) ever since I re-joined #teamshorthair about a year ago.
I had it sheared even shorter during my first pregnancy — that's actually an awesome story (I could tell you in messages if you're interested... next few days when I have a moment, I gotta get off for now) — but then I'd grown it out and worn it long again for 11-12 years before cutting it again.
Regardless — Any boy who'd lose interest in you because of a fuckin' haircut, of all things, doesn't even deserve the time of day from you. YOUR opinion and YOUR experience are the only things that matter here.

This nice gay couple put on a brave face and moved to my town so now my town is having to bite its tongue to avoid showing just how fucking homophobic they are XD
But they opened up a beauty and hair salon called The Boiz and they are amazing! More awards on that wall than I've ever seen before.
He asked me what i like and i said no maintenance, short as i can get it.
I have been getting SO many compliments. I can tell when people are a bit iffy with short hair, but even they are saying it suits me.
I will say it does make me look like my grandma a little cause she has her hair cut the same way but my grandmas gorgeous so i have no issue with that.
But i mean, my boyfriend has a preference for long hair, in fact a mutual friend is, physically at least, his ideal girl. She is gorgeous and ticks ALL his boxes (ba one). I tick one. And thats personality.
Hair isn't the be all end all. Wear it how you like it and if your guy has an issue with that he can fuck off. Its your hair.

She is not cutting it for you. Or to be "sold". She doesn't have to have a reason. It could have been just for fun out of boredom.
The thing abut your body and hair is completely different. It is not a good metaphor or comparison at all. Hair grows back, very quickly in some cases too. Destroying your body is more difficult to fix/mend and I would confidently say your body is more of an important facet than your hair. So it is not comparable. I guess something comparable to a guy would be shaving your hair off.
You're changing something on your body I'm changing something on my body. Hair vs fat seems fair to me.
Anyways if she doesn't have a reason then I'm even less attracted. Every decision you make should have a reason even if the reason is stupid.

Yes. I didn't just fall in love with her hair. I fell in love with all of her. Her personality, her eyes, face, body etc... If a guy suddenly stopped loving you just because she decided to cut her hair then he's immature and can't handle changes in life when they come.
I would still be attracted to her but I would wonder why she chose to make herself less attractive. I dated a girl in high school who had the most amazing Rapunzel like blond hair. it was down below her knees. She knew I adored her long hair. Then one day she chopped it all off. I'd have taken care of it for her. She knew how much I adored her hair and she chopped it all off. No explanation. it was like sucker punch. Most guys would interpret such an act as a message to back off.

My emotional attraction will not drop, but my physical attraction will significantly. Depending how deep my emotional attraction is and how she now looks (some girls do look good or okay with short hair), I may or may not drop her.
So it is really dependent if she looks good if not better with it. I guess it depends on the girl.
Well I know that the ratings of female talkshow hosts tend to drop whenever they cut their hair short. So if given the choice, I never advise a girl to cut her hair short, unless she's shaving her head for charity or something.
My attraction to her would almost certainly drop big time.
Actresses do this and I stop watching their performances until the grow it back.

She cut her hair later in the series. Not in season one. Typically a TV show like that gets worse as the seasons go by. I feel as though that was the reason especially if she had it cut on a season premiere.
There was so much negative feedback to her cutting her hair that it was all over the news and the TV networks at the time ordered all actresses NOT to cut their hair or lose their job. It was very real and the hair was directly responsible.
Look, you can do whatever you like - but there WILL be consequences. Know that going in. No amount of protesting is going to change what other people like or find attractive. Long hair has always been a sign of beauty (more specifically, a sign of youth and health, which is what we consider beauty). That isn't changing anytime soon.

Most likely, I would say about 80% of guys would lose all attraction, and your crush may be that statistic too but if your crush has some emotional connection with you that is strong enough then it will be ok, probably.

the same way a guy who has long hair is seen as lazy or unsuccessful. yes, I have had women treat me badly for having long hair and even been called gay. Its gotten to the point where I had to cut my hair to be a ''professional'' and have gotten many side comments in school. The same with girls with short hair who have been called ''lesbian'' ''feminist'' etc..

there are only 7 men here. The words I speak actually are based from surveys. Yes, there is a survey with thousands of people saying that 70% of women like men with short hair and yes there are surveys asking women the same

Yes of course it will, but the end goal isn't to be normal. I mean as I said, the girl always had long hair, just wanted to try something new. It will grow out eventually. I don't quite understand why men take it as such a permanent, notable change when it is the exact opposite.

I've always found the rare and above average much more attractive than the average. Maybe it is just me. I of course love guys with short hair, but every guy has short hair so it is not something I need to state, do you understand? I am simply talking about averages and going off over all consensus and the odds of everything. Changing certain styles of your appearance introduces you to a different group of guys. It may not be as such a wide range as guys who love long hair, but there will always be someone for everybody.

It's not ignorant at all since it is a stereotype. Why are stereotypes popular? Because there are truth in stereotypes. Women who cut it pixie have definitely been a part of the feminist movement for sure and men who keep it long are definitely in that profession/personality group.
