If he reacts the same way, then that's all it is. For someone who doesn't take compliments well, its a learning process. He's probably over critical of himself and whatever he does. Thats a strange response... just say u were reading up on aspects of his career cause u were interested, and u thought it was intetesting. He sounds paranoid... ask him if he's alright, and why he's questioning your interest in him... seems odd
