Why he stopped complimenting me?

we are one year together , before he used to say me compliments all the time, then it was less .. and like last 3 months I didn't hear from him any compliment. I was talking with him about it few times and still it didn't change , I feel so sad.. because I would like to hear sometimes any nice word.. even if I have new hairstyle or wear something special he is like ; oh you have new shirt.. and that's all . I say him compliments from time to time.. why doesn't he do it? you may say it's silly.. but I really feel very sad because of this , and talking with him didn't help.. :( what can I do? what do you think about this?

That's not silly. If I'm in a mall N see a stranger who's dressed pretty or has a cool/cute t-shirt, I'll tell her so because I know how good compliments make me feel N I want to make others feel that way. I dunno. Maybe he's just gotten comfortable into the relationship N thinks you already know how he feels so it's not as necessary. Just tgalk to him about it. Tell him you had to put it out there, N that the compliments felt good to you, but now it's worrying you that they stop. If he cares, N I get the feeling he really does, he'll explain himself N make it right/go back to complimenting you. I hope it works out, seriously! :)

He cares about you but you most likely never complement him... and make him feel good so why should he complement you?

I think there is a problem today where guys believe they must only compliment a girl to get her, and that once they have her, they don't need to compliment that girl anymore, because that girl is under the guys love-spell. This is not right, and you need to let him know how you feel instead of letting it get you down all the time. I understand you try, but are you making it easy for him to understand how you feel?

i told him that I feel sad that he stopped complimenting me , that I really need it and would be happy if he does it from time to time - and nothing changed. So second time I tried to explain it again that it's really issue for me.. that I need compliments, that I feel sad and lose self -estemm if he doesn't do it, he told only that he get it.. but didn't change anything. Did I say it right way? if not , what should I tell him ?

You need to tell him, that not only should he "get it", he should give you those compliments straight away, and as much as you want them. Otherwise, the best bet is to move on, to save yourself from heartbreak.

my boyfriend stopped giving me compliments around the year mark too... I have talked to him numerous times about it and nothing has changed, we have been together 4 years now I just feel stuck with him, I think guys just act nice to get a hold on us then when they know they have us they treat us like crap.

oh so you are 4 years with him and still he haven't changed.. this is very pesimistic for me.. seems I will have the same problem with my boyfriend and I can't imagine being so long with someone who doesn't compliment me:( I don't know what to do. And do you still love him? because I think that your love doesn't grow if he is like this

every day I ask my self why I am with him. I don't really love him he is just my comfort zone. I have been with him so long and feel like all guys are gonna treat me like him.
