My friend jokes about kidnapping me, should I be worried?

my friend is a guy and I've known him for a few years, he's always made inappropriate jokes and he's occasionally joked about kidnapping me. A few days ago he joked about it again but this time he said he wasn't joking, I laughed it off and changed the subject. Is he just messing with me? or should I be concerned?
