Can my boyfriend only like me for my personality?

Ive been best friends with this Guy for two years and we both liked each other during the whole time. It took us so long as we both were confused about the others feelings. But those two years we've had great moments alone but always as friends he knew everything About me and vice versa we both enjoyed each other so much. However we never talked about how I or he looks. I've always been attracted to him. Not until last week did he let me know how much he liked me. However the next day he left the country for a family vacation. He never let me know how he feels about my body, I know he loves my personality but can it be possible he only likes me for my personality? (And I know I'm nor ugly I've gotten many offers from guys about my looks only, never the other way around)

Have you told him before that you're into him?

If not, I wouldn't worry about it. Why would he just come out and tell you he likes you if he wasn't attracted to you? Plus, personality can make someone attractive.
