My crush sits next to me in class now, what do I say or do now?

So we recently got free seating rather than arranged and he sat next to me with his friends on his other side. He could have chosen to go to the other end of the class where there were a bunch of empty seats, and his friend was going there until he said he'd rather stay on "this side", but maybe I'm overthinking that part. I had a feeling he was attracted to me from that start, but I'm not totally sure now. I think I've made a few bad impressions. At first he sat next to me when he first met me, would stretch and lean back his chair and I noticed him staring from the corner of my eye, was excited I'd be in one of his classes, but nothing interesting has happened since.

Now this is the perfect opportunity to talk to him. But what do I say? Where do I start? I'm pretty obvious I believe when it comes to these things and his friends would be watching and listening to everything I say to my crush intently. I feel a bit awkward around a group of guys. Also, when I'm interested in a guy I tend to act very cold and unassuming towards him. It's almost off in a way, and it totally gives off the vibe of being turned off, which I can see why guys might think I'm rejecting their advances. I'm just super inexperienced (sex, dating, opposite gender) and it comes off stiff and strict when I'm really into someone. I feel like if I'm too eager, it's going to be way too much/obnoxious/or really obvious to those around us.

hmm okay, since you aren't comfortable being very clear with ur interest in him - i think the best way is to become his friend first! :) so just approach it as if he's just another person in the class. maybe u can go to class a bit early, and whhen he comes down and sits next to you, u can smile at him and be like "hey, you're... right?" or just introduce urself if uve never spoken to him lol. then just talk about something u have in common - the most obvious thing is the class u guys are both in :P maybe talk about how the teacher is terrible (or great) or the course material. either way, get him talking and listen to any info he might tell u about himself and also add some personal things urself lol. before u kno it, he'll be your friend and if u like him forsure (and not just cus of his looks) , there are plenty of ways u can let him kno u like him without being blunt about it lol. also if ur awks around his guy friends, just talk to them when u have a friend with u as sorta "back up" lol. hope that helps! follow me if ud like to talk more about it in chat :)

We know each other! We just talked very briefly once or twice and I completely ruined both times with how much I resorted to being cold (uninterested to him I guess). I'm friendly but it's just we have had no chance to talk up until now and I'm kind of new to the school (not really but just new to the grade) so it's hard to build up a good standing I guess which is why I'm so reserved about it (usually I wouldn't be). I guess you're right, I just thought it was too obvious talking about homework or a class. I don't have a problem talking normally with other guys, but with him it becomes an enormous problem. ohh okay i see, i think you should stop purposefully trying to be cold to him, cus it doesn't achieve what u want lol. just be normal with him, and smile a lot ;P trust me guys fall for that. this is actually perfect cus if u go from being cold, to being friendly - he''ll really start to notice u :) and fosho, u dont need to talk to him about school lol, do u kno any of his interests? or maybe u could share something interesting/funny that happened recently etc. either way, if u get him talking, and its easy to talk to him - ull kno if you have a good chemistry :p and no worries, happy to help :) we can talk in chat instead of here by the way lol

You could start with 'hi'. Don't get too worked up over feeling awkward. In fact, one of the things that I notice when a girl is attracted to me is that obvious awkwardness. In fact, the more awkward the more attracted and turned on I get.

You could actually say, you are glad he chose to sit next to you!!!

I agree with opinion below. Start with something simple. Smile, and say hello. When he returns the hello, if it is really friendly, ask him how his day is going? ... trust me if he likes you, he won't be able to stop talking. He start talking about everything, just to talk to you. ( you will probably even find out the name of his pet cat/dog, his family, his car, where he lives, etc) lol 😂

When we walk to our classes from building to building, I always see him and turn my gaze to the side or ground. So, I guess not yet. I only have one class with him and we don't talk so I thought this would come off as kind of inappropriate or weird I guess.
