I have had this to happen before. He wants what hurt him out of sight and out of mind. He wants to avoid what hurt him YOU REJECTING him. Men and women take rejection differently. A man gets his ego bruised and it kills his masculinity and a woman although it depresses her and disappoints her, she can easily move on and stay friends with the one that rejected her.
