Have you ever fallen in love with someone you weren't attracted to at first? How'd that happen?

I met this this guy last year, honestly when I first met him I didn't like him I wasn't even attracted at him at all. Because of my friend and job situation I ended up actually hanging out with him. We went to restaurants and coffee shops often; I saw he was actually a very kind gentle guy... no joke! So I started texting with him but just casually texting discussing about the job and projects! But since 3 months ago we now texts almost every day... and it's been a few weeks I think I like him! I even daydream about him sexually or wanting to simply hang out with hm. I don't know what to think anymore why do I like him now and why I see him attractive too.
Am I brainwashed or what? Or maybe It's just temporary? I feel confused so I want to hear similar stories out there as mine...

This girl I met in highschool I didn't find remotely attractive at first but but she was friends with my friends so we spoke occasionally. As time went on, we spoke more and more and I got to learn who she was. She was shy and reserved but could still keep up in a conversation.
One day she was super upset because it was her birthday and no one acknowledged her it, she says no one cared about her birthday and no one truly cared about her. I don't know why but I suddenly felt desire to kiss her. See at this point, I did really care for her and was mesmerized by the fact I didn't see how beautiful she was before. So I grabbed her face and kissed her.
I knew immediately that I liked her because the kiss was short and sweet but it said so much! She was taken back by it and ran away, head down and tightly bound. She came up to me later and told me that she really appreciated the kiss and that it was her first kiss! I felt bad, as if I took away a special moment from her that she'll never get back. She hugged me and told me that it was a very nice kiss. We didn't date till a little later and sadly our relationship came to an abrupt close.

I miss her sometimes and wish things had worked out different between us. I think I might have loved her but I'm not sure.

You aren't brainwashed or anything, you just realized that he's a good guy. First impressions are a hell of a thing but once you actually get to know someone, things change.

You are attracted to him. When you first meet someone you tend to go off looks, but once you get to know someone you become attracted to their personality. Which a lot of people don't tend to do. But when you like someone for who they are on the inside and you begin to like them on the outside too. Thsts why the old saying goes "Never judge a book by its cover"

Well yeah, because looks aren't everything. You get to know the person and that makes them attractive. Just like if you meet an extremely attractive person and they're a jerk or selfish, have ugly traits then they'll look ugly to you. It's quite possible. Looks fade, & now you've grown to like him. There is nothing wrong with that.

Never "fallen in love" but I did notice my attraction growing toward them. I was simply horny and just looking at them while they spoke so intelligently and thought to myself "I wonder if he'd like the stuff I'd do to him." Intelligence arouses me sometimes it's weird.

Yes, there was this girl, her and I were good friends and soon became best friends when we started to have multiple classes together. I started to develop more feelings towards her as time went on and I didn’t know if I like liked her, at this point we’ve been friends for about four years and nothing like this came up before. sometime in winter she invited me to ice skating with her and one of her friends, I agreed even though I suck at ice skating. When she saw that I was having trouble she asked me to take her had, I did but with some hesitation. I had a sudden increase in heart rate and had that nervous feeling that happens only when people you really like do something like touch you or look at you. At this point I knew I really did like her and my feelings developed over time. I started out not having those feelings and today ended up with them, honestly I have had this happen a couple times and I don’t like it. I want to become more than friends but I don’t want to ruin a great friendship if she were to say no or the relationship fails. But to answer the question, yes I have had that happen to me on several occasions.

Yes. I work in a research lab, and about a year ago, we got a girl from China to join the lab. At first, I wasn’t attracted to her, but once I spent hours and hours with her, I started to develop incredibly strong feelings for her. I went from 0% attracted to 100% attracted in about 3-4 months.

Even now, I don’t think she’s the most attractive girl physically speaking, but her personality more than makes up for it. She’s so intelligent, generous, and likes to laugh. Her accent is also adorable. Just being around her makes me feel euphoric.

However, she has a boyfriend back in China, so I can’t ask her out or anything. But I still have to see her everyday. 🙃

Yea we all habe high expectations of what kind of partner we want in our heads but when it comes down to ot the personality and how you get along with eaxh other is really what matters , the reality of it is ypu want someone you can have great conversations with and have a lot in common with , picking someone just for their looks doesn't cut it , personality is what really matters and how you connect

Whether you like him at the first sight or not doesn't mean anything. You realised that the instinctive attraction didn't kick in immediately. Now it does. Slowly and steadily. This is more the way a good relationship will start. Infatuation is just a trick of nature to drive you into procreation. It's not real. After 90 days it's gone and you struggle to understand what you've liked in this guy. Be happy it's different.

Why would you think that you're brainwashed. Isn't it normal to develop feelings for someone you hang out with a lot. I've had this a lot of times. I fell in love with many girls I don't find attractive at all in the beginning.
