we can talk about both cases I guess.
Do you know the difference between a North Indian accent versus a South Indian accent?
we can talk about both cases I guess.
Yes, there is a big difference... South Indian accent is more biting, esp. with the 'T' sound whereas North Indian is a bit smoother...here's the reason...
North and South Indians are of the same race but their language structures are VERY different...
-N. Indian languages (Hindi, Urdu, Bengali etc.) fall under the Indo-Aryan languages that also include Persian, and Germanic languages like English, German and Dutch...
-S. Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam etc.) are Dravidian, which is a separate and older branch of language with its own structure and components...
This is why there is a difference between North and South Indian languages...btw, North Indian includes Pakistan and Bangladesh and Nepal (all are same except for political boundaries)...
Yup, I've spent my childhood in South India. There are many differences between a Northies and a Southies, differences in food, clothing, LANGUAGE! and many more. Accent ? yep, the North Indian accent is kinda different from that of the SOuth Indians.
Maybe if I spent time in India, I could tell the difference. But as of right now I might be able to hear a difference, but I wouldn't be able to say "This person is from the north and this person is from the south."
Nah, the indian friends I do have nvr speak in their original language, don't know it, or have been in US long enough/born here that they don't even have an accent.
Can I tell the different between accents? No. Am I aware that there is differences between the Northern and Southern part of India? Yes.
