Why does my ex boyfriend's friends always stare at me?

My ex boyfriend has friends that are always staring at me. He also stares at me too, I believe he was the first one to start taking glances at me. His friends stare at me like they hate me lol, I just look across the classroom and there they are, eyes wide, glaring at me like I'm some creep or something.

We broke up a month ago because we never really hung out. But he still hugs me and tries to get close to me, yet he says he'd rather stay friends.
