Why does he always stare at me, but never smiles or comes to talk to me?!

So this guy is in quite a few of my classes, and we have never talked before. He caught my eye a few weeks ago, and this was because he was staring me down one day. In class if he speaks up to answer a question he sometimes looks out of the corner of his eye to my direction, but I'm never sure if it is really me he is looking at. Also, when I see him in other places he just stares me down, but never smiles. I of course get embarrassed and I look away. I am very shy and I want to talk to him, but I'm afraid I will get shut down. Does he stare at me, or look at me because he thinks I'm weird or what? Help please! Also, it isn't like he is exactly shy. He is confident around his friends. If that makes any difference.

he likes you and he's trying to figure out if you notice him ... don't be afraid to act shy around a guy its cute to guys when girls are that way (if you end up getting the nerves to talk to him) since he's confident around his friends doesn't mean he's going to be confident around a girl

Well I talked to him a few times now. The only problem is he won't come up to talk to me. I have to do the work. Does that mean now he is still shy, or just really not interested and I have looked too into him staring?

he doesn't smile because you don't smile. next time he stares at you..you smile and say hello..keep yourself confident... don't b shy..you miss out on the good things when your afraid!

i was in this situation and I did really bad with this girl and now really its hurting me

so my advice just smile at him when he sees you ,thats gonna make him feel confident ,you should realize he is also thinking same like you
