I am really confused about my crush, what does this mean?

We have known each other for a few years and have a very flirty relationship. Examples of him flirting include staring at me, winking at me, making sexual jokes, teasing me, complimenting me etc.

He works with another male colleague (Ben) who I get teased about. I’m friends with Ben. Ben has told me that my crush says things like “are you talking to her” or “I think there’s something going on between you two”

my crush always teases me about Ben saying “you should go out with Ben” “Ben fancies you (which he doesn’t!!)” “are you talking to Ben” “I’m sure Ben can sort you out” etc.

Today i I saw my crush and asked him when he was going away. I felt brave and I said “I’ll miss you”. He smiled and said “really?”. Then he said “other people will be there, Ben too”

I said “yeah but I don’t want Ben”. My crush was saying “I want you to like Ben he’s a good guy”. I asked him if he thinks I fancy Ben. My crush said “I think you love Ben” and walked away to which I said “I don’t love HIM”

Why does he keep doing this?

This guy sounds a bit like me, at least at first. I don't know, I kept making excuses about my crush not liking me but it turned out that we liked each other

Maybe he thinks that you are better suited to be with Ben and not him. It's also possible that he knows that Ben likes you.

I’m not sure if it’s pushing. He does it about other men too, thinking that I’m involved with them. Also when I say cute things like “I miss you” or something. )
He says “really?” And smiles as if he disbelieves it. It could be him being insecure or he doesn’t like me. It is hard to tell sometimes
