What can I say to hit it off with this guy?

so I have this friend that I grew up with that plays baseball in college... he wanted to introduce me to a guy who plays in the major leagues that's really cute. so I met him at my friends apartment and we talked about fantasy football. a couple days later I asked my friend what the guy thought of me and he said I was really cute. I decided to forward things because the guy didn't have my number or anything. so I sent him a message on facebook and said "you had a really nice smile" and he responded sayin thanks and said somethin about being tired that day and then we got on the subject of fantasy football again. we were kinda playin hard to get, like waiting so long to respond back. then after messaging for a week he asked for my number. I sent it and got a text message the next day! Everything seems to be going good, right? only problem is we don't really have anything to talk about now! I have a sense of humor and I can be really outgoing but I'm stumped on this one! I don't know how to juice up the convo ? [[by the way, he's my age and he's seems to be a relationship kinda guy, that's really sweet and my friend said that this guys looking for a girl, not just a hookup girl]]

any suggestions on conversations I could bring up, or something I could say to hit it off a little more? we both act interested in each other but I want to seem more irresistable and fun!

Fantasy Football just so happened to be the base of your connection, and you rode that horse until it died of exhaustion. Now there is nothing. Do not be fooled by artificial chemistry.

I met this girl while performing a certain hobby of mine and our connection streamlined. We could not leave each other to sleep, we spent long nights exchanging witty puns and dousing each others egos. Childish role playing and tight emotional bonding ensued. It came time to take the next step... which was when she revealed she had a lover. Oh, the irony.

Needless to say in bitter disappointment I stopped role-playing, I stopped being a conceited blabbering with and eventually we had nothing more to say. We tried communicating through other means... you know.. like have a normal conversation but it just never worked out the same. Now, we just don't speak to each other anymore. We are two different people traveling in different paths and ultimately that is where the true connection lies... even for this match made in Heaven, the stars did not align.

How do you "juice up" the conversation? The same way you did the first time, by displacing your obvious differences and focusing on a subject you both hold adjacent. Who am I to tell you this won't work in the long run? I'm simply implying there might be a slight chance in Hell.

Talk about things you both like and enjoy and then build upon that. Once you guys have a friendship where you guys can hold a good conversation, then things will naturally progress (if they're supposed to.) Having a really great connection and good chemistry is what will make you irresistible to him.

Just be natural...what type of conversation will you have with a friend?..try that..ad then from there it will lead on...becasue you then start picking up on things of interest..bits and bobs here and there...

In the initial stages of dating - it's highly beneficial if you discuss topics which let you get to know the person's personality and mindsets.. So as to say, you want to see if he has the same views/morals/values as you do. But like you said, you wanna try to do this in an irresistable and fun way.

"What's your bad habbits" (This one is a topic not often thought about, can be fun if both people are okay with self-humility. Be cautious because you need to be semi-confident to give answers to this question)

"What's your fantasy date?" (Brownie points if you can remember what he says, but this gives you an idea of what type of guy he is.. if he goes on to explain the truth then you will have the basis to really make him happy in the coming months by showing him you remembered the whole date or certain parts)

etc etc etc

Try to get to know him = Try to get to know his mindsets/values/morals/ethics/behavior/etc

thanks :) I never know what to say back to his text messages. he's kinda bad at flirting! he sometimes leaves me without anything I can say back like "yep lol" it drives me crazy and I sit there thinking what can I say back?! and I'm always asking my friends but their advice kinda sucks

Have you ever considered just talking in general? Sometimes when you talk as if it were just another human, you'll pay more attention to what intrigues them and begets a better response (one that you can reply to)..

Hopefully he learns the fundamentals quickly :P If you don't mind, could you answer my most recent question, I'd love to have the facts on there for other guys to read.
