I always catch my crush staring at me and when i see him or look at him back he will look away really fast. (Or he will keep staring). His stares are soft like (and his lips seem parted) Sometimes he will just stare at me across the room. But this happens everyday and has been for years. I’m too scared to talk to him because he knows that i like him and he knows what i think of him. Is he only looking at me because he knows this or do you think he could have interest for me back?

I’ve had this kind of experience with a crush.
Him and I would look at each other in class all casual like, accompanied by the occasional smile. I would like to note that if this guy knows you like him... how does he know? Also does he really know you? Are you all friends? Do you talk?
These kind of questions come into play in the situation. I personally do not believe a guy would look at you just because he suspects you like him. If he weren’t interested back, why would he care?
Chances are he likes, or at least takes interest in you. Or he might be looking at someone near you... (that has also happened to me... try smiling at him, if he smiles back then you know he’s looking at you.)
Anyway, if he knows, and hasn't talked to you about it, then he may just be shy! If you think that might be the case, try talking to him. He may just like you back!

thank you for your reply. well, a few years back (i know that’s kind of long) my friends told him over dm and he knew for a while but then the next year i didn’t have a class with him so maybe he forgot. he acted like he liked me? last year in class- he picked me as his partner when i didn’t have one and we needed books for the assignment and he offered to get me one and he offered to put it back for me as well. (Not that that has to do anything with this but He’s been really sweet to me... but we’re in different social groups (people think I’m shy) and he’s more of the jock of the school (sporty- outgoing- has a lot of friends.) and so since I’m not in the same social group it’s hard for me to muster up the courage to talk to him! also i told him he was cool over snapchat and he knows that now... he’s always looked/stared at me (years) and he’s always been sweet but we aren’t friends and we don’t talk much.

Hmm... I know it’s a stretch, but I usually just ask for a guys number because I think he’s cool. I’m a more tomboyish girl, no makeup, fun and games, and I’ve basically grown up with guys for friends. I completely understand what it’s like to respect and take interest in a guy just because he seems like a great person. I know this is pretty scenario specific... but I actually asked my crush if he was ok because he had bruises on his face when I saw him one day on the way out of school. I was panicked and flustered, kind of just dropped the topic and went home. I had suspicions that he liked me, and I actually just talked to one of his friends to check on him and his face. His friend told him I was worried. And he asked his friend for my number to tell me he was ok! We talk often now. ^-^
But if I were you I would try to see if you share any interests, try to talk to some of his friends. The key to my success was that he had found me interesting, I was nice, smiled, I’d chat w/ him.
