at the gyms i've been to, there's only a few people are zoning out, and majority of them are intentionally staring at others. the people who tells other people they are over thinking and etc. are just saying it so you don't feel self conscious about your exercise form and techniques or think there's something wrong with yourself or your outfit so people are staring at you.
while some people do purposely follow me around the entire gym and stare at me, i do know it's because i'm one of the few regulars that knows what they're doing so people want to learn by watching as they're probably still too shy to ask for help or whatever. i have stared at other people in the past too but that's only because those people were doing exercises with bad form, knees/ankles caving in during squats or lumbar spine rounding up during deadlifts and overall looks very cringey is when i usually stare at someone. other than that, i usually just focus on myself and zone out or i'll just open the news app to read the news until the timer goes off to notify me it's time to do my next set.

Before I answer your question I want to let you know that you’re doing your workout routine wrong.
Secondly there are times where kn between sets I’ll stand and glance around. If my eyes happen to link up with the eyes of a female then she should be aware that it’s not intentional. Afterall I do not continue starring, cause for one that’s some creeper shit

Hey, being in a gym it is kinda boring so people just look at things that move. It is not on porpose and i can assure you, everyone that are in the gym have insecurities (even if it just in their heads). Girls look too, it is normal and is not because people are pervets. I am sure you look too to other people, you just dont notice it.
First, congrats on getting started. That’s the hardest part.
Guys that are regularly working out are going to naturally be drawn to a woman that works out regularly as well. Keep it casual, it’s ok to flash a smile. If they approach you, kindly decline. The regulars that are serious, will help with your routine if needed. You might even connect with a good workout buddy. Which is nice to have on the days that you need a little push. Best of luck.I bet a lot of them find you attractive.
Have you tried to smile back at them?
This looks like flirting.
Enjoy it.
If you feel harassed be safe, but otherwise enjoy the attentionIt could be that your just in there line of sight and there zoned out. It could also be that they think you're cute.
They just wanna see what exercises you do as a woman.
