Guys, Do players come back?

my fwd told me he’s seeing someone and doesn’t think we should continue to see each other anymore for that reason. I was respectful to this situation and said I agree let’s just cool things off and stay just friends. He was a bit of a dick about it saying we weren’t gonna be more than friends like wanting the last day. Anyways he’s known as a player. What are the odds of him returning... and how long until he initiates the last message I sent to him was: Anyways I just thought you should know that it’s all good.
I’ve been seeing this guy too so yes it’s fair to say that it’s best if we just keep things friendly from now on. I hope everything works out for you.
