Emotional Affair to Next Level?

A man I work with and I hit it off immediately last summer. I have never connected with anyone like I have with him. We don't see each other often as our offices are 3 hours away. I usually have to travel to work there once a month. We talk on the phone a lot about work, flirt occasionally - sometimes pretty heavy, but refer to each other as "best friend". We are both married. Please no judgment there. His marriage isn't happy and he stays for the young kids; my marriage isn't happy and I'm leaving as soon as I save enough money to buy a home.

We have never had physical contact other than hugging. We have a definite emotional attachment. We think about each other all the time. It's exciting; we both love the new attention.

Occasionally he's been saying very sexual things such as running around naked together; wanting to "feel" me, etc. I don't buy into this much as he talks very free on the phone but when we're together in person, he never speaks like this. He's very P.C.

Guys ~ what's going on here? Is he interested in the next level but afraid? Does he just like the flirting? Any experiences or thoughts appreciated.

he may be thinking of the moral and right way to go about it?

He may want to do things right on his end first before proving his interest?

It may be in his action that he may want to get a divorce first and legally have things concluded before having an out of marriage affair ? ( not judging)

He may also wounder later if he can commit to someone that had an affair while still married?

He is definitely interested and putting out feelers to see if you are too. I'm in the same situation. My "friend" and I are both committed to other people but flirt and share secrets a lot. In my case, my guy hates cheating, but it seems like we're getting close to something happening. He texts me a lot and asks me to sit on his lap and stuff like that. He's only kissed me on the cheek but we've held hands and he's put his arm around me.
