I chose B, possibly, because I think it depends greatly on the context of the situation. Generally speaking though, asking for a selfie outside of a relationship likely means the guy is...
1.) Horny. Even if it's just a face shot, the sheer act of doing the selfie acts a further emotional connection in a sense. It ties the text to a face, and it also makes the guy feel as if swapping pictures, which I suppose is a few steps away from trading more explicit photos. It's also a personal connection, which is the very reason why a horny dude may message people on the internet instead of just diving into the plethora of porn out there. It's not just the physical connection that gets them off-- it's the personalized feel. Although sending a harmless selfie likely doesn't have the physical appeal of something explicit, it's not without personalized. If someone asks for a random selfie and doesn't really know you well, that's what I'd firstly assume. It lastly could be a hope to lead into something else.

2.) Wondering if you're a catfish or not, which is heavily dependent on context. If he met you in real life and is later texting that, I'd refer to number 1. This is more so applicable if y'all met over the internet and haven't really talked much.

3.) If y'all have talked for a long while, it may be just trying to advance the friendship to a next level. It's the same reason why you'd add someone on Facebook or ask for their number instead of just staying on G@G PM chat, or Whisper, or whatever. (Of course, people often think someone is advancing a friendship when they're really just horny lol)

The only time I can imagine it meaning something more romantic like the guy missing you is if you are the guy's girlfriend. Either that, or y'all are REALLY close friends. If it's a random dude though, yeah... he's probably just horny.
